Technology, Strategy and #girlpower

This week marked week two of a five week travel schedule that has me zig zagging across North America. Flying can be exhausting but doing what you love with amazing humans makes the travel worth it.

I spent the majority of the week in a strategic planning meeting with one of the country’s largest independent brokerages that is doing some pretty great things and who you will be hearing a lot more about in the near future.

Another project that has been pretty exciting has been launching Lone Wolf Insights with Lone Wolf Technologies. Many of you know Lone Wolf as the leading back office platform. Insights is a new addition to the technology that gives brokers a dashboard view of the key operational performance factors of their company. Designed to put data in the hands of brokers to better guide their business decisions and support their agents, Insights is an important tool for today’s brokerage leadership.

One of my most delightful conversations of the week was with a new agent who is working hard but was feeling a bit frustrated by an unmotivated seller, a couple low end buyers who are not making a decision and the heavy lifting involved in actually getting a deal closed. We had lots of giggles discussing how to navigate through these situations. Her quote that really resonated and I think is worth sharing was “you know I can’t let the b*llsh#t get in the way of the real sh#t I need to be doing.”  Isn’t that a dose of truth!

Yale School of Management released a study that shows that single women buy houses for an average of 2% more and sell them for an average 2% less than single men. The study then states that in a “tight housing market the gap is nearly nonexistent.” This study annoys me and seems like it was really reaching to somehow position it that single women were not as good negotiators as single men. I think this is a bunch of hooey! Yale, you can do better. Single ladies, let’s keep fighting against these outdated stereotypes. #girlpower

Off to New York City for Inman Connect next week!

I've spent my career working with people and organizations to help them build their brands. We live in a connected world where that line between a personal and professional persona has become nonexistent. Your brand is you 24/7. This blog is about me and my life. Some of it will relate to my passion for the real estate industry and some of it will just be about me living life and exploring my interests. The opinions expressed here are my own personal opinions.
