OMG, it’s the last Friday of the month and the last day of January! So that means it’s been a hectic week topped off by a crazy Friday of trying to push all those closings through before the end of the month. Are those deep breathing exercises working? Nope, not really.
Anyway, I had my senior leadership team live and in person all week here in Southern California. Our team is located all over the country so getting together in person under the same roof means we get to accomplish a lot of strategic thinking and planning. It was a really good week for #teamcarrington. However, my Twitter time was a little limited but I did still pick up a few golden nuggets from my stream.
If you aren’t following Jeffrey Gitomer do it now. I first met him in 2006. I hired him to speak at an event I was organizing for Royal LePage back in Canada. He rocked it and made a big impression on me. When I booked him he had just released his first book, The Little Red Book of Selling. By the time the event happened the book had hit the New York Times Best Seller list. He’s since published many books and has become a real guru to all sales professionals. His Tweets are on my favorites list and I can always count on him for the kick in the pants kinda straight talk that sales people really need more of in this world! (In my opinion.) 🙂
There’s lots of buzz about Facebook’s new mobile reader app, Paper. I’ll be downloading it next week for sure. I can’t wait to play with it and I’ll be curious to hear what Mari’s thoughts are on the app.
When’s the last time you sent a fax? It might just be years for me. I don’t even know where the fax machine is in my office, although I’m sure we must have one. We haven’t added fax number to a form in forever. Do we even need it anymore?
Real estate agents ask me all the time if they still need a website or if being on social media is enough. The points raised here certainly validate the pros of having a website and supporting it with a social media strategy. The short answer is we need both.
So to top off my crazy week I’m planning an 18 mile run on Sunday. I’m a little over a month away from running the LA Marathon (my first marathon) and this will be my longest run ever. Yes, I’m nervous. Wish me luck.
I hope you had a great week online and offline!
