This time of year lends itself not only to planning ahead but to looking back. One of the things I’ve been conscious of this year is the type of content that drives engagement on the various social media platforms I participate in. So I thought this website was really interesting.
The site is Statigram.com. You share your Instagram account info and it provides you with a video of your top Instagram moments of the year according to the number of likes the photo received. Here’s my video.
I’ve joked all year that dogs are Instagram magic. Well I guess now I have the proof!

PS: You can push different engagement buttons on different social media platforms. On Instagram if I want to drive “likes” I post a picture of a dog (obviously). There are different hot buttons for different people. My developing theory for online branding is understanding your personality characteristics and which platforms to express those on so you can push the hot buttons and grab people’s attention when you want to. By the way, building brand isn’t always done off the back of business content alone. Like your personality you need to show multiple dimensions of content for people to relate to your personal brand.
