This app saves me so much time and has saved my butt on more than one occasion!
Have you ever had a computer or technology malfunction when getting ready to deliver a presentation in a meeting? I sure have. Murphy’s Law seems to come into play to make sure that the more important the meeting the more likely there’s some sort of problem which results in my computer deciding it doesn’t want to talk to the projector.
That’s where Dropbox is great. It allows you to save files on the cloud and access them from anywhere and from any internet enabled device. Brilliant! So no worries. I just grab someone else’s computer (that wants to talk to the projector) log in to Dropbox and I’m ready to go. Looking calm and collected of course as all of this is going on. 🙂
Another reason I really like DropBox is it allows me freedom from my hard drive. I just save my files in DropBox and I don’t have to lug my laptop with me all over the place. I can leave it at the office and work on another computer at home or right from my iPhone or iPad. I save the file back in DropBox and it’s waiting for me when I return to my laptop again.
The last great feature of DropBox I use frequently is the file sharing. Through a public folder you can send a url to a file you want to share. The recipient just clicks on the url and downloads the file. This is great for sharing large files via email.
Did I mention you can do this all for free? Yep, you get up to 2 GB’s of space for free. After that there are upgrade options and referral options that get you even more space. Which I could use, so if you decide to sign up for an account after reading this I’d appreciate the referral. (Yes, that was a bit of a self-serving plug…ooops!)
