“We do not remember days, we remember moments.” Cesare Pavese
As time progresses, the days of 2011 will fade. I’ll carry forward memories and stories but individual moments will be forgotten. That’s why several years ago I put aside a few minutes every New Year’s to write down some of my most memorable moments from the previous year.
My moments list typically contains between 8-12 moments. Each moment is just a few words. Before writing the current list I can’t help but flip through the pages of previous years. Instantly, I’m taken back to places, times, people and emotions. Most are happy memories, some aren’t. They have all shaped me. They have all become part of the person I was, I am and I want to be.
I don’t remember where I came up with this idea. I think it was a twist on something I read in a self-help type book or magazine. I can tell you that it has become a tradition. A part of reflecting on the previous year and preparing for the new one that synchronizes with the calendar.
My 2011 memories list is in the books, time for 2012!
Much success! Looking forward to following you in 2012 – I know it will be a great year for us all!

Thanks Jay. All the best to you and your family in 2012 as well.
me too. Happy New Year!
Congratulations on your new blog Wendy! I love your “moments” list and the fact that you take the time to reflect on all that made up the previous year. The end of the year is always a bit emotional for me as I recount my successes and failures throughout the year and look ahead to what will be and always is an exciting new adventure ahead.
Looking forward to following your new endeavor!!
Hi Rebekah
Thanks for following along. If I was making a list of talented and great new people I met in 2011, your name would be on it!
Happy 2012.
I’ve enjoyed watching you grow over the last 13 years that we’ve known each other… but I’ve never seen you smile as much as you’ve been smiling this year. I’m genuinely happy to see you genuinely happy!
Thanks John. There was a lot to smile about this year. I’m very lucky and blessed. I can’t believe it’s been 13 years. Gosh, we were just kids trying to make our way as real estate agents way back then. I too have enjoyed watching you grow into a husband and Dad. I’m sure it’s been quite a journey for you. Thanks for all your support over the years.
Such an awesome year! and to think 2012 is going to be even better! 🙂
Wendy – Happy New Year – I am looking forward to following your new blog and hearing about what I am sure will be a great 2012 for Wendy Forsythe!!
Thanks Todd. It’s been a busy 2012 so far!
